A. FORMAL PARTING EXPRESSIONS
1. GOOD BYE
If you just say GOOD BYE, nothing else, it is one of the most proper way to tell someone you are leaving. It means that you are cold and formal and it seems that your are on bad terms with a person or you aren't on bad terms with a person or you aren't going to see them again. GOOD BYE itself is used for several circumstances such as you are angry with someone or when you are going through a breakup or divorce and do not intend to see again.

FAREWELL is a formal parting expression of good wishes in a bittersweet situation with as when you are leaving someone for a long period of time or when a family member is on their deathbed,

3. HAVE A NICE DAY! or HAVE A GOOD DAY!
It is used by people if they are not too familiar and if they won't see each other for the rest of the day. If it commonly used with a cashier, casual acquaitance or a co-worker.

4. TAKE CARE! or BE SAFE!
These are used when you are parting with someone for a week or longer. These are not appropriate used when you meet someone for the first time. These are best used when someone is going on a trip or a long car ride.
